Matt Edgar, CFA, CPA, CIMA® | Managing Partner
Matt is a lifelong resident of Cypress, TX. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas (Summa Cum Laude) in Houston, TX. He then earned his MBA from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Additionally, Matt has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Certified Investment Management (CIMA®) certification, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is also a member of the CFA Institute, the Texas Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Investments & Wealth Institute.
Matt is also a Director on the McCoy College of Business Foundation, where he chairs the Investment Committee. Matt is also a member of the Texas State University Development Foundation Emeritus Council. From 2013-2019, Matt was a Board Member of the Texas State University Development Foundation, where he served as Chair of the Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Bobcat Club Leadership Council.
In addition to his work in the accounting industry and investment management, Matt has held positions in banking, oil and gas, and the equipment rental industry. Matt has been married to his wife, Jodi Edgar, for over 20 years. They have two beautiful children, Heidi and Jeff. Jodi is also an MBA graduate of Texas State University and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Jodi Edgar, CPA, CIA | Partner
Jodi grew up in the Cypress area and is proud to call Cypress home. She earned her BBA degree in Finance from Texas State University (Summa Cum Laude). She then earned her MBA, also from Texas State University. Jodi is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Jodi is a member of CFA Institute, Texas Society of CPAs, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. She has over 15 years accounting experience and has held various audit, financial management, and controllership positions primarily in the oil field service and manufacturing sectors.
Jodi is a Board Member of the Texas State University Development Foundation, where she serves on the Audit and Finance Committee.
Jodi has been married to her husband Matt for 19 years. They currently reside in Cypress with their two children, Heidi and Jeffrey.
Carlos Sulbaran, EA | Sr. Tax Associate
Carlos was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela where he completed his BBA in accounting at Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacin University. Carlos became passionate about US taxes during the 2015 filing season when he was an IRS Tax Volunteer. He’s an Enrolled Agent and candidate for the CPA exam. Carlos enjoys finding solutions for complex tax situation and applying different strategies to minimize your tax liability.
Aniela Garcia | Account Manager
Aniela was born in Venezuela and has a BBA in accounting from Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacin University. She began her career in 2006 as a bookkeeper at an accounting firm. Aniela has experience in payroll, AR, and AP and is super detail oriented and organized. Aniela has a love of accounting and is passionate about numbers (her signature includes G2!). Aniela loves learning new things and hopes to become a CPA one day.
Anne Wagner | Accounting Assistant
Anne was born and raised in small-town Minnesota. She attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN studying Mathematics, Theology, and Classical Latin. After completing her Bachelor’s degree she relocated to Berkeley, CA for Graduate studies in Ethics & Social Theory in Religion and Politics. Since then, Anne has followed her passion for horses all the way to Texas and she now calls the Houston area her home. Anne has 20 years’ experience in business operations, process improvement, and procedure development. As well as bookkeeping, A/P, A/R, payroll, and research.
